Sein Startup Gapless hat eine Plattform entwickelt, um f\u00fcr Autos eine vollst\u00e4ndige Fahrzeughistorie zu erstellen. Interessant ist das etwa f\u00fcr die Besitzer von Oldtimern. Doch Autos sind nur der erste Markt, auf dem das Startup sein Gesch\u00e4ftsmodell entwickeln will: Wenn der Fahrzeugmarkt erschlossen ist, plant Gapless seinen Service auf weitere Sammlerst\u00fccke wie etwa Uhren oder Baseballkarten erweitern. \u201eIn Zukunft werden die Menschen immer weniger besitzen. Daf\u00fcr wird das, was sie besitzen, mehr Wert haben\u201c, sagt der Firmengr\u00fcnder Karnath.<\/p>\n

F\u00fcr das weitere Wachstum haben der Geldgeber Finlab EOS VC, der Versicherungsunternehmer Kersten Jodexnis und der Autobauer Porsche insgesamt 5,5 Millionen Euro in das Startup investiert. Porsche ist bereits seit 2018 an Bord. Gapless wird nach Informationen von Finance Forward mit 22,5 Millionen Euro bewertet.<\/p>\n

Ein weiteres Startup, das die EOS-Blockchain verwendet<\/h2>\n

Die App von Gapless funktioniert dabei mithilfe der Blockchain. Um von den Herstellern die entsprechenden Daten verwalten zu d\u00fcrfen, brauche es ihr Vertrauen. Deshalb setzt Karnath auf diese technische L\u00f6sung. \u201eHier k\u00f6nnen sich die Hersteller sicher sein, dass ihre Daten nicht gegen sie verwendet werden, denn sie werden dezentral verwaltet.\u201c Abgesehen von den Herstellerinformationen und Kaufbelegen verfiziert und erfasst die App auch Stationen bei Werkst\u00e4tten, T\u00dcV-Gutachten, Versicherungen und die Informationen der Vorbesitzer. Das soll auch beim An- und Verkauf f\u00fcr Vertrauen sorgen, da die Eintr\u00e4ge wie eine Art Zertifikat funktionieren k\u00f6nnen.<\/p>\n

Aktuell verwaltet Gapless eigenen Angaben zufolge mehr als 50.000 Fahrzeuge auf der Plattform \u2013 Ende des Jahres sollen es 100.000 sein. Die Kunden k\u00f6nnen ihr Fahrzeug in der App eintragen und dann daf\u00fcr bezahlen, dass Gapless die ben\u00f6tigten Daten zusammenf\u00fchrt. Das Unternehmen kann zudem daran mitverdienen, wenn das Fahrzeug mit Hilfe dieser Daten versichert oder verkauft wird.<\/p>\n

In den kommenden Monaten plant Gapless seine Technologie auf die sogenannte EOS-Plattform umzustellen. Das Projekt geh\u00f6rt zu den gro\u00dfen Hoffnungsprojekten der Blockchain-Szene, insgesamt vier Milliarden Dollar wurden in die Entwicklerfirma Block.One investiert. Das sei viel Geld f\u00fcr eine Plattform ohne konkrete Anwendungen, sagen Kritiker<\/a>. Um Startups zu finanzieren, die die EOS-Blockchain verwenden, haben Block.One und die Frankfurter Beteiligungsgesellschaft Finlab extra den Fonds Finlab EOS VC aufgesetzt, der mittlerweile zu den gr\u00f6\u00dften Blockchain-Investoren Europas geh\u00f6rt. Zu den bisherigen Investments z\u00e4hlen beispielsweise das HR-Startup Instaffo und das blockchainbasierte Computerspiel Upland.
